District Administration

It is with great enthusiasm that I serve the students of Titus County as Superintendent of Schools for Harts Bluff Independent School District. The experiences and successes that I have had over my twenty-seven year administrative career have prepared me for this type of opportunity. Over my entire thirty-three years in education, I have worked with many talented educators that have taught me how to be a leader. Nothing has prepared me more than what my parents instilled in me. They taught me that being dependable and trustworthy allows me to form sincere relationships. They showed me that integrity and character are what is important and allows me to be the leader that I want to be.

In all that I do, I work to create a safe environment for students and make decisions that are “kid driven”. This comes to fruition by the way the school board and superintendent work together as a team of eight. Transparency allows us to work together to create a vision and goals that are in the best interest of students and are reflective of what the community of Harts Bluff is looking for in its educational leaders. Through teamwork, collaboration, and sound fiscal management, we can make certain that the needs of our students are met ensuring our vision and budget are aligned.

Challenges exist in all districts, but by seeking them out and addressing them we can create better opportunities for students. By being present on the campus and by involvement in the community, a conduit between the school and community can be created so that all parties are given a voice. Building relationships is the only way to ensure people have a platform to express their concerns and my goal is to create the types of relationships that show people that their voice is valuable and will be heard.

My wife Melissa, serves the district as the 504 liaison and my oldest son is Assistant Principal in College Station ISD at College Station High School. My youngest son is an architect, working at a firm in College Station. My wife and I believe that Harts Bluff ISD and the community of Mount Pleasant is the type of place in which we want to invest. We both have a calling to work for young people and to create better opportunities for them. I love serving the students of Harts Bluff and would be happy for you to stop by for a visit.
